Terms of Use
The agreement that governs your use of Voice Recorder. Please read it carefully before downloading or using the app.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Voice Recorder ("Voice Recorder", the "app"), provided by Pro App LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), a product of Pro App. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not download or use the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Voice Recorder, you accept these Terms in full and agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Pro App LLC. If you are using the app on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you are using the app, you must be of the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you do not accept these Terms, you may not use the app.
2. Licence to Use the App
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to download and use Voice Recorder on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:
- copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the app, except as expressly permitted by law;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, redistribute, or otherwise commercially exploit the app or any part of it;
- remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks in the app;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with the in-app purchase mechanism or any feature that limits access to PRO functionality;
- use the app for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms or the rights of others.
All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by us and our licensors.
3. Voice Recorder PRO
Voice Recorder is free to download, and recording and playback are free to use. Voice Recorder PRO is an optional upgrade that unlocks additional features — including transcription, trimming and sharing — and removes ads. PRO is offered both as an auto-renewable subscription (for example, weekly and yearly plans) and as a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are made and managed through your Apple ID, with payments processed by Apple via the App Store (StoreKit). We never receive or store your card or payment details.
Auto-renewable subscription disclosure
- The subscription plans of Voice Recorder PRO are auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock PRO features and remove ads.
- When a free trial is offered, it automatically converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the rate of your selected plan.
- Price and available plans are shown in the app and may vary by region and currency.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings ▸ Apple ID ▸ Subscriptions.
- No refund is given for the unused portion of a paid period once a trial has converted; refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple in accordance with its policies.
- The lifetime option is a one-time, non-recurring purchase: it does not renew, there is nothing to cancel, and it is restorable on devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
By subscribing to Voice Recorder PRO, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out above. The subscription will continue and renew automatically until you cancel it. If you have started a free trial, the trial will automatically convert into a paid subscription at the standard price for your selected plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial period ends. To avoid being charged for the next period, you must turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends; otherwise your Apple ID will be charged within 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current period, and you will retain PRO access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
You can restore a previous purchase at any time using the Restore option on the PRO screen, provided you are signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase. We may change the features included in PRO, and the plans and prices offered, from time to time; changes to the price of an existing subscription are subject to Apple's rules and will not take effect without the notice and consent those rules require.
Because purchases are processed by Apple, your use of purchases and subscriptions is also subject to Apple's standard terms. Please review Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA) at apple.com/legal/.../stdeula.
4. Your Recordings
The audio you record, the transcripts the app produces from it, and the names you give your files are yours. We do not claim any ownership of them, and we do not upload, access, monitor, or store them — they are saved on your own device, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Because your recordings exist only on your device, you are solely responsible for backing them up. We cannot recover a recording that you delete, that is lost when a device is reset, lost, or damaged, or that is removed when you uninstall the app. Trimming a recording replaces it with the shorter version. We are not liable for any loss of recordings or transcripts.
Transcription is provided as a convenience and is generated automatically by speech recognition. It will contain errors, particularly with background noise, accents, overlapping speakers, or specialist vocabulary. Do not rely on a transcript as a verbatim or certified record, and always check it against the audio before using it for anything that matters.
5. Recording Laws & Consent
Laws about recording conversations differ from country to country and, in some countries, from state to state. In some places you may record a conversation you take part in; in others, every participant must consent first. Recording other people without the consent the law requires can be a criminal offence and can expose you to civil liability.
You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the laws, regulations, and workplace or institutional policies that apply where you are and where the people you record are, including obtaining any consent required before you start recording, and for how you use, store and share what you record. We provide a recording tool; we do not provide legal advice, and we accept no responsibility for how you choose to use it.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Voice Recorder responsibly and lawfully. You must not use the app to:
- record any person without the consent required by applicable law;
- conduct unlawful surveillance, eavesdropping, wiretapping, or covert monitoring;
- infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of any person;
- create, transmit, or distribute illegal, obscene, defamatory, or infringing content;
- harass, threaten, blackmail, or abuse any person;
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, our servers, or any systems or networks connected to the service;
- introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
You are solely responsible for the content you record with the app and for ensuring that your use complies with all applicable laws.
7. Intellectual Property
The app, including its software, user interface, design, graphics, text, and other content (excluding content you create), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features without our prior written permission.
8. Third-Party Services & Ads
Voice Recorder relies on services provided by Apple and Google. We use Apple for purchases and subscriptions (StoreKit) and, where on-device speech recognition is not available for your language or device, for speech recognition; Google Firebase for analytics and diagnostics; and Google AdMob to serve advertising to free users. Advertising uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework; the IDFA is used for personalized ads only if you allow tracking, otherwise non-personalized ads are shown.
These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, over which we have no control. We are not responsible for the availability, content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service or advertisement, and your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that any recording will complete successfully or be free of defects, or that any transcript will be accurate or complete.
Audio recording depends on your device, its microphone, available storage, and the behaviour of iOS — including how the system manages background apps, interruptions such as phone calls, and low-storage or low-power conditions. We do not guarantee that a recording will capture everything you intend, and we strongly recommend testing a setup before relying on it for anything important.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Pro App LLC, its affiliates, officers, employees, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, recordings, transcripts, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the app shall not exceed the amount you actually paid to us for the app in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you; nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pro App LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use or misuse of the app, the recordings you make or how you use them, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law including recording and privacy laws, or your infringement of the rights of any third party.
12. Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice if you breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, the licence granted to you under Section 2 ends immediately, and you must stop using and delete the app. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including those relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law, will continue to apply. Termination does not affect any subscription terms administered by Apple, which you can manage in Settings ▸ Apple ID ▸ Subscriptions.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the app, our practices, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the app after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the app.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app shall be submitted to the competent courts of Lisbon, Portugal. This choice of law and forum does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you reside.
