Frequently asked questions

Which TVs does iRemote work with?

iRemote supports the seven major Smart TV platforms: LG (webOS), Samsung (Tizen), Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Vizio and Android TV / Google TV. That covers brands like Sony, TCL and Hisense too, since they run these systems.

Do I need any extra hardware?

No. iRemote controls your TV directly over your home Wi-Fi network. As long as your phone and TV are on the same network, you're ready to go — no dongles, hubs or IR blasters required.

The app can't find my TV. What should I do?

First, confirm both devices are on the exact same Wi-Fi network. On iPhone, open Settings > iRemote and turn on the "Local Network" permission; on Android, make sure iRemote is allowed to access your local network. Restarting your router and TV also clears most discovery issues.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by the store you bought from. On iPhone, view or cancel anytime in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions; on Android, in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions. See the Terms of Use for full details.

Is my data private?

Yes. iRemote talks to your TV locally over your own network and doesn't require an account. Read our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
