Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the iAuthenticator mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. App Functionality and User Responsibility

iAuthenticator is a utility application designed to generate Time-based One-Time Passwords (TOTP) and HMAC-based One-Time Passwords (HOTP). You acknowledge and agree that:

Data Security: Your 2FA secrets are stored locally on your device and/or securely synchronized via your Apple iCloud account. We do not maintain backups of your data.
Loss of Access: You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Apple ID. We cannot recover lost 2FA tokens. Losing access to your device without a proper backup may result in permanent lockout from your third-party accounts. We shall not be held liable for any such loss of access.

2. Subscriptions and Auto-Renewable In-App Purchases

The App offers premium functionalities (such as unlimited accounts and iCloud synchronization) via auto-renewable subscriptions ("PRO Subscriptions"). By purchasing a PRO Subscription, you agree to the following billing terms:

Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Billing: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, identifying the cost of the renewal.
Cancellation: You may manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your App Store Account Settings after purchase. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current active subscription period.
Free Trials: Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You shall not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App.
Modify, translate, or create derivative works based on the App.
Use the App in any manner that could disable, overburden, or impair the App's functionality or Apple's iCloud services.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights in the App, including but not limited to design, graphics, code, and text, are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand identity.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will meet your specific requirements, that the operation of the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects in the App will be corrected.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall we, our affiliates, directors, or employees be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the App; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party; or (iii) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the App.

8. Governing Law and Severability

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
